Danger Lies Ahead (Banoffee Pie)

So there's this blogger who has this thing called "recipe tuesday". Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Wellll...I was perusing around her website, and I ran into this bad boy...
Oh yeah buddy. oh. yeah. Hungry yet? well too bad. I am!
So first thing's first. Get a can of sweetened condensed milk and remove the label. Just a baby can will do just fine. (you can skip this and just buy toffee or caramel, but this way is more fun and more rewarding.) boil it for 2.5 hours making sure water is always covering all sides of the can at all times.
While that's going on, you can prepare a bit of the other necessities. For instance, you can shave the chocolate. Cuz I mean, come on people chocolate is so hairy. ha! oh the puns! alright anyways..
You can either do what i did and buy a crust (dump it all over the floor then have to go buy a new one. yes that happened. I thought the crust was supposed to come out of the case...note to everyone: you should probably keep it in there) or you can do the whole complicated, grind up graham crackers in a food processor, melt it together with butter, then heat it in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes. Then let it cool. But in my opinion that's just too much. I mean making your own toffee is one thing, taking that much time just to make a crust is another. But hey, I'm not judging if you want to put in the unnecessary labour. go right ahead.
Now the bananers. Yeah. bananers. They're ten times cooler than bananas.
Choppy choppy! Lay them in the bottom of the crust, I used two bananers if you couldn't tell.
Tada! this is what the toffee did when i tried to open it. Seriously it was the coolest thing ever.
Pour it all over, and try to cover the bananers as much as you can.
 Freeze it up!
And time for the home-made cool whip! (again, you can skip this and just buy regular cool whip...boring! but again, not judging.) So you need 2 cups of whipping cream...
 1 teaspoon of vanilla....
 I just liked this picture...heh.
Now whip your ingredients back and forth....too much? Yeah I agree.
So...this did look really cool. until i over-whipped it. It still tasted the same though. Also, in terms of the whipped cream-cool whip! sorry my bad, cool whip. There IS a difference people. Just so you know. Anyways. Word to the wise, add sugar!
And now that the hairy chocolate is shaved. (ha!)
 Frost the frozen pie...
And put the shavings on top.
And now you have a hairy pie! oh man. oh man.
Side story:
So we're playing apples to apples at convention because we're cool right? yeah. exactly. So what happens is the word was "Hairy" (see how i got into this bunny trail) and Pastor Abbey starts laughing and tells me that she hopes she appreciates her card. Well needless to say I knew her card right away. The girls didn't get it because well...they're a bit too young. Okay well no, they're not young, but they just didn't get it. So her card?
J.K.Rowling
yeah. hysterical right?
get it?
she wrote "Harry" Potter. Ha! oh man. gets me every time.
well this has been story time in the kitchen with Anna. until next time.

If you want the legit recipe or you want to peruse around her blog as i did, here's the link!
